My Story

Where It Began

Survival Was Only the Beginning

For years, my life was shaped by experiences I never imagined I would survive. I became entangled in human trafficking and was forced to navigate circumstances that stripped away my sense of safety, identity, and hope. I learned far too young what it meant to survive in environments where my vulnerability was exploited and my voice was taken from me. But trafficking did not get the final word over my life.

By the grace of God, I found my way out—and slowly began the difficult journey of rebuilding my identity, my faith, and my future. Healing was not immediate or easy. I had to confront pain, shame, fear, and the beliefs I had developed simply to survive. Through that process, God began transforming my story from one of exploitation into one of purpose. I discovered that surviving was only the beginning; I was called to live, heal, speak, and help create safer pathways for others.

A Loss That Fuels the Mission

My story is also deeply connected to loss. Someone I loved did not survive the same realities of exploitation, and that loss became part of the fire behind my mission. I carry her memory with me as I advocate for women and girls who are vulnerable to trafficking and for survivors who are trying to rebuild their lives.

A Calling Back to School

Turning Lived Experience Into Legal Advocacy

That calling has also led me back to school. I am pursuing my education in criminal justice with the goal of becoming a future attorney so I can advocate for people who were—and are—just like I was: vulnerable, exploited, unheard, and often navigating systems that were never designed with their experiences in mind.

I want to use both my lived experience and my future legal education to challenge systems, amplify survivor voices, pursue justice, and help create meaningful pathways to safety and restoration.

Survival → Education → Advocacy

Every step of this path builds toward the same goal: turning what she survived into the credentials and standing to change the systems that failed her and so many others.

My Mission Today

What Survivors Deserve

Today, I use my voice as a survivor, advocate, author, speaker, criminal justice student, and founder of Hope Haven Coalition to educate, empower, and help protect others. My work is rooted in the belief that survivors deserve more than rescue—they deserve safety, dignity, restoration, opportunity, justice, and the freedom to imagine a future beyond what happened to them.

I once believed my story was something I needed to hide. Now I understand that God can take even the darkest chapters and use them to illuminate a path for someone else. My story is not defined by what was done to me. It is defined by the fact that I survived, I found my voice, I pursued my purpose, and I chose to use everything I have learned to help others find theirs.
